Concurrent supports the simulation industry by delivering powerful, high-fidelity platforms for an wide array of virtual training needs including pilot flight instruction, air crew maintenance, mission rehearsal and driving simulation. And that’s just a few examples. The benefits of Concurrent virtual training solutions are significant -- quality training that saves lives and ensures mission success. Examples of training programs supported by Concurrent simulation solutions are the Daimler driving simulator, JAS-39 Gripen, SH-60K Sea Hawk, KTPS tank platoon, Eurocopter, Tornado, AC-130U, Airbus A300, JSF, Ford driving simulator, CH-53 Stallion, Mirage 2000, F-2, Patriot missile, B-1B, B-52, C-130 Hercules and P-3C Orion.
Concurrent offers powerful simulator host systems that leverage the latest COTS technologies. From the ground up, Concurrent’s iHawk multiprocessing systems powered by RedHawk Linux deliver the deterministic response essential for high-fidelity, highly responsive simulation…guaranteed real-time response in the tens of microseconds on today’s NUMA architectures.
At the heart of each iHawk is the RedHawk Linux real-time operating system. Compatible with the popular Red Hat® Linux distribution, RedHawk features high I/O throughput, fast response to external events and optimized interprocess communication. RedHawk is the ideal Linux environment for complex real-time simulation and training applications. Concurrent iHawk systems support simulation models written in a variety of languages including C/C++, Ada95, FORTRAN and also graphical simulation and modeling tools such as the Mathworks’ Simulink.
iHawk systems include Concurrent’s Real-time Clock & Interrupt Module (RCIM), a multifunction PCI or PCIe card designed for time-critical applications that require rapid response to external events. The RCIM includes a synchronized clock readable by multiple iHawk systems, multiple programmable timers, and input and output external interrupt lines. RCIM clocks are specially designed to support the cyclic scheduling needs of man-in-the-loop training systems.

Concurrent’s ImaGen Visual Server family offers fully-integrated, affordable high-performance IG solutions for real-time simulation and modeling applications. Also powered by RedHawk Linux, ImaGen is the ideal platform for truly interactive, virtual reality, landscape, architectural and aerial, ground, and marine simulation. The ImaGen family provides the most flexible, multi-channel Linux-based graphics platforms available today. ImaGen can be custom configured to address a broad range of price/performance requirements from low-end, single-channel systems to large, genlocked, multi-channel and SLI video server solutions. ImaGen delivers the technology needed to rapidly develop and deploy accurate, real-time 3D visual solutions for training applications.
ImaGen platforms are complete IG solutions. All required IG components are fully integrated and supported by Concurrent, including COTS imaging channels, monitors, color-matching projectors with edge-blending and curved screen distortion correction, display screens, rackmount chassis, mounting hardware and application software. ImaGen features the latest NVIDIA and AMD ATI graphics technology.
ImaGen supports a wide range of 3D image gneration software, such as Presagis Vega Prime, Diamond Visionics' GenesisTRX, OpenSceneGraph , OpenGL and OpenGL Performer. Concurrent offers a range of customized IG services including visual database creation, simulation model interfaces to the IG, avionics and instrumentation, projection systems, physical control devices and custom hardware.
Concurrent iHawk host systems and ImaGen IGs also support Concurrent’s powerful NightStar development tool set. Users can debug, analyze, monitor and tune their real-time applications on a systems or remotely from a PC or laptop. Each tool runs on the iHawk target system non-intrusively, thus preserving the deterministic characteristics of the real-time application.
Ideal for simulation applications, the NightSim is a tool for scheduling and monitoring time-critical applications that require predictable, cyclic process execution. NightSim allows developers to dynamically adjust the execution of multiple, coordinated processes, their priorities, scheduling policies and CPU assignments. The NightTrace tool allows a user to graphically view the interaction between the Linux kernel and multiple application threads in real-time.
Concurrent has a strong legacy of developing innovative, deterministic solutions that meet the most challenging technical requirements of worldwide customers. Concurrent simulation products are ideal for the development of new state-of-the-art trainers or for rehosting legacy trainers to modern platforms
